LINDH (LIND)
Looking for information on Frans Bernhard Lindh, born April 19, 1874 in Stockholm, Sweden. His parents were Frans Gottfrid Lindh and Karin Olsdotter. He left Sweden in January 1903. He arrived at Ellis Island but I have found no information after that. He is believed to have lived in Minnesota.
He was married to Elin Karolina Jönsson and they had three children, Karl Alfred Bernhard, Frans Edvin Birger and Gottfrid Elis Gerhard. He sent tickets to his wife but she was afraid of doing the long trip with three small children, so she stayed in Sweden.
He was inventive and mechanically inclined and there is a belief that he may have been involved in the copying of a Swedish made adjustable wrench.

FANNIN
Did Rebecca FANNIN, b. 1850 in Wayne County (now WV) end up in Minnesota? After 30 years searching, I still haven’t found out what happened to my great grandmother. We were told that she “remarried and moved away” among other things. People who told us that said they couldn’t remember to whom she remarried and where they moved. This would be vital information to tracing her final years. This is why I’m posting this message on as many “unknown county” queries as I can find.
I searched for her before there were computers and the Internet. My grandfather searched (1915-1920) and couldn’t find her. Here is the basic factual information that I have for her.
Basic facts on my great grandmother:
Born: Rebecca Fannin, about 1850, (Va./WV), d/o Silas and Mary (Ferguson) Fannin.
Married: 8 August 1868, Wayne, West Virginia, Reece Carl Workman.
Their son, my grandfather, Benjamin Freeland Workman, b. Wayne County, WV 2 April 1870.
My grandfather was taken from Rebecca by Reece before 1874, never to see each other again.
Reece married his cousin, Margaret Workman, in Mercer County, WV 2 February 1874.
Rebecca was granted divorce from Reece and custody of their child in Wayne, WV in March 1877.
This (1877) is the last known (to me) record of Rebecca (Fannin) Workman.
Family stories say Rebecca remarried and moved away, but they can’t remember to whom and where.
After my grandfather married, Reece, Margaret, and the other children moved to Wright County, Minnesota about 1895. Reece and sons established farms around Maple Lake and Annandale. After Margaret died, he returned and married again living near Crumpler, McDowell, West Virginia. He died in a car wreck in McDowell County in 1928.
I am hoping to locate a descendant of her second marriage.  Ralph H Sayre  Apr 2005

RINGDAL
Looking for any records or info on Rasmus Hansen RINGDAL born in Aug. 1859 in Hellesylt, More og Romsdal, Norway, and his wife Brithe Pernille ABRAHAMSDATTER b. Sept. 1853 at Eid, Sogn of fjord, Norway. They married in Norway July 16, 1881 at Hornindal, Sogn og fjord, Norway, and emigrated to US about 1881/1882 (to either Minnesota or North Dakota.) At least one known son of Rasmus' born in Norway was Ole Martinus RINGDAL.
They may have dropped the surname RINGDAL once in the US, as I have been unable to find any record of them in the 1900 census.
Other known relatives who also came to the US are:
The parents of Rasmus: Hans Olaus (Rasmus?) Iversen Ringdal b. Feb.1829 wed Carn (Karen) Marte Rasmusdatter Starheim b. Jan. 1828. They are known to have emigrated to US (No.Dakota) in 1894. Their son Peter Ingvald Larsen emigrated to US about 1881 and is said to have later married in LaCrosse Wisconsin.
The sister of Rasmus: Olivia (Olave) Hansdatter Ringdal b. Nov. 1855, wed Lars Larsen. She died in No.Dak. in 1900. They emigrated to US in 1881.
The brother of Rasmus: Iver Ringdahl b. Dec. 1853 wed Barbru {?} b. Feb. 1867. They had 3 children all born in Minnesota: Gida Clarice Ringdahl, Henry S. Ringdahl and George L. Ringdahl.

Searching for information on Maria Josefina Jarvi, born in Kalvia,
Finland, in 1861. She is known to have emigrated to Duluth Minnesota in
April 1887. She probably got married to Johanson or Johnson (or
Johansson) and had to sons. We know that one of them died in World War
I, in France. Maria Jarvi Johanson moved later to Astoria, Oregon.

COWAN
I am looking for a Harvey W. Cowan, born in 1863 somewhere in MN, (his
Parents Names are really what I need). I don't have the county or town... he was
my gggrandfather...I have only found Harvey's grandfather ( William L. Cowan-born in Scotland) who adopted him at a very early age, (before age 6) and
moved him to New York... his birth would have been right around the Civil War
time...which I do know William L. Cowan (Harvey's grandfather) was in. Do you
think maybe the reason he was adopted by his grandfather, is his father was killed
somehow???
Thank you very much, I would appreciate any help I can get....as I am truly
stuck...

BLOOD/KELLAR
We are looking for a gg aunt: Mary Ida (maiden name) Kellar
What we know:
She married three times:
1) Harvey Grant Blood
2) Adolar Daoust
(She and he were seen on the 1920 Fed census at 1-WD Minneapolis, Hennepin, MN living with son Elmer Blood)
3) Bailey or Dailey (We are leaning toward Bailey because a living direct line relative remembers Mary Ida and thinks her name was Bailey. But an obituary of another relative listed her name as Dailey. We think this was a newspaper mistake.)
She was born June 18, 1883 in Dallas, Barron County, WI daughter of Franklin Kellar and Eliza Catherwood Kellar.
Many times, people just called her "Ida".
If you know anything, let me know. Thanks.    Linda Piechowski    May 2005

LARSON/NAKKEN/RANDEN
My name is Roger Engvik and I am a senior staff photographer in daily newspaper Sunnmoersposten in Aalesund, Norway.
I am searching relatives in Mille Lacs, Hennepin or Isle, Minn. My grand grandmother was Ragnhild Johnsdatter Randen born 24.01.1856 in Vaagaa, Norway. She married Nils Anderson Nakken in Fiksdal, but left him and two sons, Johan (my granddad) and Anders, in April 1911 and went to Minnesota.
I do not think Nils and Ragnhild were divorced. She died in Isle 9th of January 1948. It looks like she is buried as Ragnhild Nelson in Faith Cemetery, Mille Lacs.
Her daughter was Marie Nilsdotter Nakken, born 18th of July 1889. She went to Minnesota in May 1909 and married Geo Larson. She used the name Mary Larson and have children Helmer, Ruth, Richard, Clara, Margareth(Margit?) and Delore. On the picture enclosed you can see Mary and Geo (George?).
I have found a Mary Larson, born out of state 18th of July 1889 and died 6th of August 1982 in Hennepin. CERTID 1982-MN-019636. Could it be her?
My brother and I are working on a familysearch-project and I hope you can help us. If you have suggestions of other places to ask or search please let us know or send this mail forward to peolpe who maybe have information about the Larson/Randen-family in Minnesota.
