I'm looking for information about my great grandmother. Her name was Sophia, Sophie, Jane or G. Sophia (I am sure it is the same person) and I don't know her maiden name. My grandfather (Herman A. HELGESON)'s birth certificate lists her as Jane born in Norway. Some old Census records list her has having been born in Wisconsin. She was born November 04, 1852. Her husband was Halvor HELGESON and they were probably married in Fillmore County (Newburg Twp) between 1865 and 1874 when their first child was born. In 1879, the family (Halvor, Sophie and three children: Ina, born 1874, Herman, born 1876 and Oscar, born 1878) moved by covered wagon to Anthony Twp in Polk County (which became Norman County) and are thereafter associated with Ada, MN. Sophie died there October 24, 1894. I want to know her name, who her parents where, where she was born, and when she was married.

Seeking info on Torger OLSON/OLSEN and wife Agnetta. Torger was born about 1830 in Norway (no idea where) and came to US in 1870. Found in 1880 Yellow Medicine Cty US Census. They had at least 7 children, only last one Issac TORGERSON was born in US - Iowa. Children apparently all went by surname of TORGERSON. Daughters: Ida (possibly married a John I. I am looking for information from an article in the Minnesota Genealogist entitled "Ship Passengers Minnesota Bound" which lists mostly Scandanavian immigrants to the U.S. I have several names which were extracted from this publication, however, the extract does not provide the name of the ship, the ports of origin and destination, or the dates of sailing. If anyone has a copy of the Sept.1986 issue of Minnesota Genealogist, I would appreciate their help. This issue has a list for the years 1882-1883 on pages 119-127. Hello : I am looking for some information on the John O. HANSON and Martha Hanson family for Ollie Hanson. Edward Franklin STENHOFF born 21/11/1871 in Lichfield Minnesota. Died 27/4/1942 in Minneapolis (2749 Hennepin Ave). His fathers name was Peter H Stenhoff who was born in Sweden. Does anyone have any information on either of these persons. The Stenhoff name is quite famous in South West Sweden which is where my family originate from. I am trying to fit this USA branch of the family into the swedish branch. I am particularly interested in Peter H Stenhoff and where he was born in Sweden.
